Got a Webcomic?

Join Us!

Palace in the Sky Publishing (SKYPUB) was established to help webcomic authors and artists promote and develop readership for their comics. We do this primarily through consistent, high-performance advertising and optimization of our member sites.

SKYPUB is not a "top webcomics" list. It is also not just a "collective." Webcomics join SKYPUB to increase the quality of their audience and its numbers. We do this with one simple mechanism:

Palace in the Sky Spends Money Advertising Your Site

SKYPUB has invested its revenue in ad campaigns across the Internet, and will soon expand into print and television. We buy ads that drive traffic to our gateways, where our member sites are listed and categorized. We also drive traffic directly to our member sites through special promotions. SKYPUB sites share their promotional costs so our artists and authors can concentrate on their comics. SKYPUB only asks for a small amount of your site's real estate in return.

Your Site Displays our Skybox Advertising Space

Our network serves a 160x600 skyscraper-sized advertising space to all of our member sites. Inside this space, SKYPUB runs a variety of advertising, from sponsors who purchase impressions directly to ads provided by services such as Project Wonderful and Google. The Skybox updates automatically, so once you've installed it, you're all set. Because all of our sites run the same ad, we can aggregate our pageviews into a single block of impressions: up to five million each month.

Publishing the Skybox is the only requirement for membership.

Join our Artists and Writers Message Board

SKYPUB also hosts a free message board for all of our member artists and authors, where they can share ideas, critique each other's sites, discuss our promotional programs and help improve the network by helping each other. We also host a Google Group for the exchange of new artwork and comic pages.

List your Print Comics, Merchandise, Stores and Blogs

Our fourth gateway is known as our "Stores and Blogs" list. Any SKYPUB member site is eligible to list their print comic store, Lulu page, Amazon listing, Zazzle Store or any other retail site on this gateway, and is also eligible to list their news site or blog. The Stores and Blogs list receives equal promotion with all of our other gateways, and is an excellent way to generate additional exposure for your webcomic project.

We don't require retail stores to publish the Skybox, but they must be associated with a member webcomic. Blogs should publish the Skybox whenever possible.

Is my webcomic eligible?

By all means! We only ask that your webcomic meet a few guidelines. SKYPUB sites build their audiences by updating regularly, so we ask that your site not become a zombie comic. We generate revenue through pageviews, so we also ask that your site be at or moving towards 1000 pageviews a day.

The combination of those two factors is what enables the success of the entire network. As a group, our sites average over five pageviews per visit, meaning that even a moderately successful ad campaign can result in many tens of thousands of new pageviews across all of our sites. We want your site to be included.

Generally speaking, we have no content restrictions, but our decisions are guided by common sense. We don't allow adult comics or anything gratuitous. Basically, if you can't advertise it on Project Wonderful or Google, we can't promote it, so we can't list it.

Can I have more than one webcomic?

Absolutely, provided each comic meets the guidelines and requirements.

What if I only have a blog? Can my site be a member?

Blogs on geek culture, science fiction, anime, gaming, speculative fiction, computer hardware or software, gadgets, movies, manga, comic books, fan fiction, collectibles, horror, etc. are welcome, provided they meet the guidelines and requirements for webcomics.

Who runs Palace in the Sky Publishing? Where did the name come from?

Palace in the Sky Publishing is owned by Heavy Cat Multimedia Ltd., publisher of the LadyStar webcomic and fiction series. The name "Palace in the Sky" first appeared in the LadyStar novel of the same name.
